Well we made it.. all 1350 miles of it. Both kids were great in the car. We took our time and made plenty of rest stops along the way. The girls are not impressed with the cold and amount of clothing they have to wear but I'm sure they will both get used to it. We are slowly unpacking and settling in, doing as much as we can with two little ones!
Our last weekend in Florida was spent doing all the things we loved to do while we were here- beaches and a little bit of Disney. We took Evelina to the beach for the first time and she loved it. Loved her toes in the sand and ocean (regardless of how cold it was she loved it) She grunted and growled when we pulled her out of the water. She sat there peacefully watching the waves wash up on the shore. She is a true Florida girl. She had a nice bottle and took a short nap on the beach blanket- can't get any better than that.
My little sand baby!
amazed by all things beach
amazed by the waves
loved the water!
Day two of beach fun!
makes friends in no time!
We went to downtown Disney for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe- always fun for the kids at Downtown Disney. We had some snacks at the Candy shop, had dinner, danced and rode some rides! The girl's loved the tropical fish at the Rainforest Cafe.
Evelina had her four month check up today. She weighs 14 pounds 2 ounces and is 25 3/4 inches long. She got three shots and one oral. She is at 75th percentile for weight, 97th percentile for length, and 75th percentile for head size. For those who don't know what any of that means- she is a chunk, tall for her age and her head is big.. haha
Otherwise, she is exactly where she needs to be for her age developmentally wise. She pulls herself up with help, rolls from belly to back and pushes herself up when on her belly. She babbles and Mimi taught her raspberries so she wakes us up with the sounds of that now and she recognizes voices pretty well too. She grasps her toys well, laughs often and has been known to shove a foot or two in her mouth. She is a happy baby and we are blessed.
Love it or hate it, I joined quiet a while ago but never really did anything with it. I didn't have time to play around and quiet frankly I didn't understand the concept so I let it sit...
then one day I decided to take a stab at it- I started pinning and haven't stopped since.
I have various boards from food, crafts, DIY stuff, money saving ideas, bedroom make-over's, things for the home, places we have been and where we want to go just to list a few.
I decided that I would do at least one activity from Pinterest with the kids, or at least Gianna each week as well as one idea for myself each week.
I started with a few small projects-
Tissue paper heart with Gianna around Valentine's Day for Mimi
Monkey foot print with Gianna- she gave this to her babysitter Miss Lauren
Hair Tie holder for Evelina. I used one of the butterflies hanging in her nursery as the top and grabbed some ribbon we had hanging out for the holder.
This was actually my first project - Since Evelina's nursery is butterflies i took this idea and did it with her feet to hang on her wall.
This is going along with my menu planning. I think this cost me $12.00 to make with most items on clearance at Michael's Craft store. I try very hard to make weekly menu plans and only grocery shop for items on the list to help stay organized and save money. Now everyone in the house can simply look at the board when they want to know what is for dinner each night. They are held on by clothespins so changes are easy to make if necessary.
I have also organized Gianna's craft supplies into totes and various containers for easier access. I've also grabbed a few really good recipes from here. I'm planning Gianna's birthday party with many ideas from various pins and I'm very excited about it! It's quick, easy and doesn't require a lot of thought- you can pin and access the sites later on. I love it!!
You asked for it, you got it... a day in the life of our crazy family.
We have been blessed with two wonderful little girls...
Gianna is currently in pre-school and she loves it. She is sad that she will be leaving her friends but excited that she will meet new friends soon. We have her signed up for soccer and we are looking into pre-k programs for her. She is constantly on the go and full of energy. For an almost four year old, she is one smart little cookie.
Evelina is growing like a weed. She has her four month appointment this week and I'm curious to hear what she weighs. She is a great baby, eats every three hours and sleeps through the night. I can't complain. She loves her swing, her bouncer and her gazzillion toys. We dipped her toes in the pool for the first time this week and she loved it. Another water baby!
